Sveta Gera

Sveta Gera, Žumberak, Sveta Gera

Sveta Gera (1178 m) is the highest peak of the Žumberak mountain, Gorjanec and Pannonian Croatia, but also the border between Croatia and Slovenia. It is also called after the saint St. Elias and the Greek-Catholic chapel. Nearby is the Slovenian Roman Catholic Chapel of St. Gera. Slovenians call the peak Trdinov Vrh after the author Janez Trdina. The peak is a wide, wavy opening of 300 m, stretching from the east to the west, with a 15 m tall pillar with a ladder to climb to the top.
