King Tomislav Square
Samobor
King Tomislav Square is the administrative, governing and cultural center of the town. Besides the traffic function, the square also played an important role as a marketplace for daily, weekly and annual festivities, church feasts, political meetings and similar. The current design of the square was finalized in 1910 with the construction of the building of the Samobor Savings Bank.
In 1925 the square got its current name, inspired by the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Croatian kingdom. It was called only "Plac" (Market) until 1891 and Leopold Salvatore Square between 1891 and 1925. All buildings around the square are protected cultural monuments of the I. category.
