Jazovka Grotto

Sošice, Žumberak, Sošice

Jazovka, a natural grotto near the village Sošice, is also a burial site of 250 murdered soldiers in 1943. During 1945 the Communist government used the grotto to dispose of the remains of soldiers and civilians. Since the media discovered the grotto in 1990, a celebratory memorial mass for the victims has been held on every Sunday closest to May 15.
